Croatan is 9-1 against Richlands since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Croatan and three for Richlands.

Croatan blew White Oak out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday White Oak got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-2.

Croatan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harrison Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Another was Nathan Griffin, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Richlands came up short against Swansboro on Tuesday, falling 16-3.

Croatan now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Richlands, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Croatan took their victory against Richlands when the teams last played last Tuesday by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
