Soccer Recap: Florence Comes Up Short

Florence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Rye Thunderbolts. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Florence of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Florence's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Rye, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6-2 record this season.

Florence will face off against Lamar at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rye does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
