Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Carondelet walked away with it. They skirted past the Monte Vista Mustangs 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Ava Van Peteghem paced Carondelet's offense, picking up 28 kills. Van Peteghem got some help from Isabella Vertudez and her 25 assists. Van Peteghem was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Monte Vista lost on Saturday, don't look at Kennedy Bergen. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and one assist. Lily Kim also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Carondelet's victory bumped their record up to 28-9. As for Monte Vista, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 27-10.
