Baseball Recap: Atherton Triumphs

Atherton hadn't done well against Fern Creek recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Ravens came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 9-6. The game was the first time the Ravens have beaten the Tigers on their field since April 1, 2015.

Jude Fulks was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Atherton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4-1 otherwise. Jayden Stone was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Atherton now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Fern Creek, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atherton will head out to challenge Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fern Creek, they will venture away from home to face off against North Bullitt at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
