West Bladen entered their tilt with Fairmont on Monday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Everything went their way against the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes as they made off with a 47-26 win. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Golden Tornadoes are ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Bladen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Williams, who posted 15 points. Jackson Pait was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Fairmont's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Cummings, who put up 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Johnson, who earned eight points and five boards.

West Bladen's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Fairmont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

West Bladen has already played their next contest, a 49-20 win against Red Springs on the 28th. As for Fairmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 81-44 victory against Clinton on the 28th.
