Basketball Game Preview: Katahdin Cougars vs. Fort Fairfield Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Katahdin Cougars face off against the Fort Fairfield Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday... Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Katahdin is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Ashland just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, Fort Fairfield came up short against Fort Kent on Friday, falling 62-38. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Fort Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Katahdin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-10.

Katahdin didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Fort Fairfield in their previous meeting on Monday, but they still walked away with a 28-23 victory. Will Katahdin repeat their success, or does Fort Fairfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
