Football Game Preview: Trinity Trojans vs. V.R. Eaton Eagles

The Trinity Trojans will head out to take on the V.R. Eaton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity will be strutting in after a win while V.R. Eaton will be coming in after a defeat.

If Trinity beats V.R. Eaton with 55 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Trojans enjoyed a cozy 55-37 victory over Keller on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Meanwhile, V.R. Eaton played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 48-26 to Byron Nelson. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Bobcat are ranked 24th).

V.R. Eaton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.0 points over those games. As for Trinity, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Trinity was able to grind out a solid victory over V.R. Eaton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 33-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
