Basketball Recap: Providence Academy Comes Up Short

Providence Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Elkins Elks and fell 75-25. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Elks are ranked 47th).

Providence Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Elkins, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Academy will square off against West Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkins has already played their next match (against Thaden), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
