Softball Recap: Gregory-Portland Has No Trouble Against Corpus Christi Moody

Gregory-Portland got themselves on the board against Corpus Christi Moody on Tuesday, but Corpus Christi Moody never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Trojans. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Audrey Diercks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Elizabeth Keith was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Castro, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Gregory-Portland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Gregory-Portland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Coincidentally, Gregory-Portland and Corpus Christi Moody will both be playing Carroll the next time they take the field. Gregory-Portland will head out to face Carroll at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Corpus Christi Moody will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on April 4.
