Volleyball Recap: Golden Gate Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Golden Gate and Lely, and Lely kept the tradition alive. The Titans fell 3-1 to the Trojans on Tuesday. The Titans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-12, 21-25, 25-22.

Jessica Alamilla paced Golden Gate's offense, picking up 13 kills. Alamilla got some help from Vicky Munoz and her 22 assists. J'Nyah Francois and Lindsey Pineda kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Golden Gate has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Lely, they moved to 4-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Golden Gate will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Naples at 7:00 p.m. As for Lely, they will head out on the road to take on Immokalee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
