Softball Recap: Blair Academy Takes a Loss

Blair Academy extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-4 in the process. They fell 7-4 to the Mercersburg Academy Storm. The Bucs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Mercersburg Academy, the victory got them back to even at 6-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

For Mercersburg Academy's part, Peyton Appenzellar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, Kamden Jenkins and Jaz Garnett did most of the damage at the plate: Jenkins went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double, while Garnett went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles Garnett has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adi Rinker, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Looking ahead, Blair Academy will welcome Sparta at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mercersburg Academy, they will challenge James Buchanan at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
