Foothill is 8-2 against Red Bluff since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will square off against the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Foothill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Foothill's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Colusa 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Elisea Wiegand was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Red Bluff made easy work of Lassen on Saturday and carried off a 6-0 victory. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Like Foothill, Red Bluff also got a great game from a two-way player: Mattison Kwarta. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Kwarta was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Kwarta wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Piper Tyler, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.
Foothill's record now sits at 16-5-1. As for Red Bluff, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Foothill hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Red Bluff struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Foothill came up short against Red Bluff when the teams last played back in March, falling 9-6. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
