Baseball Recap: Leflore County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Leflore County had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the West Bolivar Eagles on Wednesday as Leflore County made off with a 20-14 victory. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Daveon Jones was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing nine bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Davis, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Leflore County's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for West Bolivar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Leflore County will be playing at home against Simmons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Bolivar, they will challenge Edwards at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
