Soccer Recap: Kemp Takes a Loss

Kemp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ford Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 0-0 back in February.

Kemp's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Ford, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12.

Kemp and Ford could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Kemp (ranked 657th) will meet Community (ranked 294th) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kemp has given up an average of 4.1 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Meanwhile, Ford will take on Mabank at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday down 350 places (663 vs. 313).
