Basketball Recap: Colonial Heights Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Colonial Heights can now relate to. They fell 70-61 to the Lakeland Cavaliers on Monday. The Colonials were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Several Colonials players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Hartsoe, who on his way to 26 points and six rebounds. The game was Hartsoe's third in a row with at least 23 points. Cartier Coleman was another key player, to rack up 20 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Colonial Heights smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Colonial Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Lakeland, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.

Colonial Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lakeland has already played their next contest (against New Kent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
