Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North falls despite big games from Amir Morton and Devin Thomas

The Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Tigers managed to keep up with the Douglass Eagles until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North was beaten by the Eagles 82-54. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post eight fewer assists than your opponent.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Devin Thomas, who scored 12 points along with three steals, and Amir Morton who scored ten points. Thomas hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Germain, who scored five points along with six rebounds.

Solomon Lewis had an outrageously good game for Douglass as he dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lewis scored 15 or more points. Curtis Valentine was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Douglass, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
