Volleyball Recap: Borah Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Borah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mountain View Mavericks. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mavericks earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Borah sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-12.

Gena Fink paced Borah's offense, picking up 16 kills. Fink got some help from Emma McKinney and her 30 assists. Sophie Gunther controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Macy Minert was the offensive standout of the match as she had 18 assists and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Borah's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Mountain View, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9-2.

Borah has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Timberline on the 1st. As for Mountain View, they will head out to take on Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
