Basketball Recap: Nucla Mustangs vs. De Beque Dragons

If Nucla was feeling good fresh off their 66-7 takedown of Ouray last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nucla Mustangs were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 43-42 to the De Beque Dragons. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Nucla still got an impressive performance from Kendra McCluer, who posted 18 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lantry Galley, who put up ten points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.
