Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Del Mar Dons

Lincoln is 9-1 against Del Mar since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lincoln Lions will host the Del Mar Dons at 4:00 p.m. Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lincoln and Del Mar meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Lincoln was the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Del Mar. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Colton Draminski looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lorenzo Collazo, who went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Gamez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Mar only posted a batting average of .118.

Lincoln's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Del Mar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
