Volleyball Preview: Roxana Shells vs. Freeburg Midgets
Roxana is 0-8 against Freeburg since March of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Roxana Shells will venture away from home to challenge the Freeburg Midgets at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Roxana had just enough and edged Gibault Catholic out 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Shells.
Roxana had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-18, 25-23.
Meanwhile, Freeburg beat Wesclin 2-0 on Monday.
While Freeburg might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Wesclin scored at least 16 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-12.
Roxana's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-9. As for Freeburg, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
