University hasn't had much luck against Lake Belton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with University sitting on four straight victories and Lake Belton on nine.
On Thursday, University made easy work of Waco and carried off a 20-2 win. Considering the Trojans have won ten matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Matt Turrubiartez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
In other batting news, Carlos Perez and Armando Cervantez did most of the damage at the plate: Perez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Cervantez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Cervantez has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Asa Sutton, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
University kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Lake Belton was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Chaparral as they made off with a 9-1 victory.
Lake Belton pushed their record up to 19-4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.
University came up short against Lake Belton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 5-0. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
