After a string of four wins, Walkertown's good fortune finally ran out  on Tuesday. They came up short against  the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers, falling  3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season,  with their most recent  defeat being a  3-0  loss  two weeks ago.
 Walkertown was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Bartlett Yancey work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 27-25,  25-13.
Walkertown's offense was headlined by  Macy Miller and  Madison Holmes, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from  Chloe Isaacs and her 15 assists. Finally,  Aliviah Bateman kept Walkertown's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
  Lyndsey Smithers was the offensive standout of the  matchup as she  had 20  assists and four  digs. That's the most assists  she has posted since back in October of 2024.
Walkertown's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Bartlett Yancey, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record  this season.
 Walkertown will venture away from home to  challenge Lincolnton  at 7:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Bartlett Yancey, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  3-0  loss against McMichael on the 15th.
