Baseball Recap: Marine City Comes Up Short

Marine City has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Lamphere Rams, falling 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mariners have suffered since April 13, 2024.

Tucker Volkman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Collin Gabler, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Marine City's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lamphere, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
