Baseball Game Preview: Chapman Irish vs. Abilene Cowboys

The Chapman Irish will venture away from home to challenge the Abilene Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapman has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chapman lost 11-4 to Council Grove on Tuesday.

Chapman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aven Woods, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Abilene's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buhler.

Abilene's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Chapman, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Chapman couldn't quite finish off Abilene when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 14-12. Can the Irish avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
