Recap: Cooper Dragons vs. Trinity Valley Trojans

The Cooper Dragons were the 63-31 winner over the Trinity Valley Trojans when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Cooper fell 37-28 to Trinity Valley on Friday. Cooper has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Cooper still got an impressive performance from Dean Calhoun, who rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Calhoun is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Santi Fernandez villarreal, who threw for 168 yards on 13 of 26 attempts.

Trinity Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Parkhurst led the charge by throwing for 325 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.1% of his passes, and also rushing for 112 yards on only 13 carries. Trinity Valley also got help from Charlie Anderson who showed off his sure hands for 93 receiving yards.

Cooper now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Trinity Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Cooper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Trinity Valley will head out on the road to face off against Fort Worth Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
