Softball Recap: Clinton Central Has No Trouble Against Bethesda Christian

With a playoff win on the line, Clinton Central rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Bethesda Christian Patriots 7-0. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.

Nuriah Harvey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Abigail Richie was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since May 1st.

Clinton Central's record is now 11-13. As for Bethesda Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Clinton Central will challenge Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. Bethesda Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
