Basketball Game Preview: Nimitz Vikings vs. Lake Highlands Wildcats

Nimitz is 1-9 against Lake Highlands since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Nimitz Vikings will head out to square off against the Lake Highlands Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nimitz took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Irving 44-29. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Lake Highlands fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They were the clear victor by a 55-33 margin over Berkner on Friday.

Nimitz's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-19. As for Lake Highlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-18 record this season.

Nimitz was taken down by Lake Highlands 63-30 in their previous matchup on January 3rd. Can Nimitz avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
