Baseball Game Preview: Isle of Wight Academy Chargers vs. Arcadia Firebirds

The Isle of Wight Academy Chargers are taking a road trip to challenge the Arcadia Firebirds at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Friday, Isle of Wight Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Christchurch School, taking the game 7-3.

The team relied heavily on Zac Perry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Arcadia hadn't done well against Broadwater Academy recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Firebirds skirted past the Vikings 9-7.

Isle of Wight Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Arcadia, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Isle of Wight Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Arcadia in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
