Volleyball Recap: Gillespie Comes Up Short

Gillespie lost against Southwestern back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Miners fell just short of the Piasa Birds by a score of 2-1. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Gillespie sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 25-16.

Gillespie's defeat dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Southwestern, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 15-14-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Gillespie is set to square off against their familiar foe Litchfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southwestern will face off against rival Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
