Volleyball Recap: Gillespie Takes a Loss

Gillespie lost against Southwestern back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Miners fell just short of the Piasa Birds by a score of 2-1. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Gillespie sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-22, 17-25, 25-16.

Gillespie's loss dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Southwestern, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-14-2.

Gillespie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Litchfield on the 23rd. As for Southwestern, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Greenville on the 23rd.
