Soccer Game Preview: Northwest vs. Byron Nelson

Northwest hasn't had much luck against Byron Nelson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Northwest Texans are taking a road trip to take on the Byron Nelson Bobcat at 6:30 p.m. Northwest has given up an average of 3.9 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Northwest is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to Southlake Carroll. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Dragons are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Byron Nelson made sure to put some goals up on the board against V.R. Eaton on Tuesday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Bobcat haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Byron Nelson, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Northwest suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Byron Nelson in their previous matchup back in February. Can Northwest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
