The Amundsen Vikings will square off against the Hancock Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Amundsen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Amundsen didn't have quite enough to beat Payton College Prep and fell 5-3.

Kate Frey was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hancock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 8-3 to Payton College Prep.

Hancock saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Pinal, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Amundsen has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Hancock, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Hancock's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Amundsen has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. It's a different story for Hancock, though, as they've only averaged .317. Will they be able to contain Amundsen's hitters?

Amundsen took their victory against Hancock in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 19-5 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
