Football Recap: Port Gibson Takes a Loss

Port Gibson extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-16 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson County Tigers. Jefferson County found their leader in freshman Jaheim Day, who threw for 265 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt.

Looking ahead, Port Gibson will host Crystal Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Waves will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
