Soccer Game Preview: Elberta vs. Gulf Shores

The Elberta Warriors will take on the Gulf Shores Dolphins at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Elberta's offense. They came up short against Bayside Academy on Tuesday, falling 4-0. Elberta fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Admirals since on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Gulf Shores was not quite Baldwin County's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Dolphins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gulf Shores' loss dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Elberta, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

Elberta suffered a grim 8-3 defeat to Gulf Shores when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Elberta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
