Baseball Recap: Williamson's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Williamson came out on top against North Rose-Wolcott on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Marauders never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Marauders have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Devin Allen, who gave up just three hits to keep North Rose-Wolcott off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caiden Watson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Mikey Ishler was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Williamson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Rose-Wolcott only posted an OBP of .280.

The victory made it two in a row for Williamson and bumps their season record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for North Rose-Wolcott, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Williamson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-6 victory against Marion on the 14th. As for North Rose-Wolcott, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Gananda Central on the 14th.
