Softball Recap: Cedar Bluff Gets the Win

Cedar Bluff proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Collinsville Panthers 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Mackenzie Kimmons looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kylie Vadon, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Rylie Walker was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Cedar Bluff pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Collinsville, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Bluff will take on Pleasant Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Valley will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Cedar Bluff surely won't give up without a fight. As for Collinsville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Collinsville Panthers duke it out with Valley Head Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Head has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Collinsville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
