Baseball Recap: Clayton Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Clayton's offense. They came up short against the Mehlville Panthers on Tuesday, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Greyhounds' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Clayton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Corner, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Clayton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Mehlville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

While Clayton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
