Football Recap: Ryan Raiders vs. Highland Park Scots
Ryan and Highland Park squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Ryan had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Highland Park Scots by a score of 24-21. The Raiders were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nehemiah Warmate, who rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries.
Even if they lost, Ryan's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Kha'Ron Freeman-Wade was especially locked on to Highland Park's QB and sacked him twice. Freeman-Wade is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in the last three games he's played. Uzziah Warmate was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Ryan moved to 13-2 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak. As for Highland Park, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Ryan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland Park, they will be home for the holidays to greet Smithson Valley at 11:00 a.m. on December 21st. Smithson Valley will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Highland Park surely won't give up without a fight.
