Basketball Recap: Courtland Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, Courtland rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over the Caroline Cavaliers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 50-48 victory back in January.

Airyana Maze had a dynamite game for Courtland, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Maze a new career-high in blocks (five). Taylor West was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

The win made it two in a row for Courtland and bumps their season record up to 12-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Caroline, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Looking ahead, Courtland will head out to face off against Chancellor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caroline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
