Baseball Recap: Washington Latin Public Charter School's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Washington Latin Public Charter School dropped their record down to 8-8-1 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell 7-3 to the School Without Walls Penguins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 13-11 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Washington Latin Public Charter School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Blier, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for School Without Walls, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.

On School Without Walls' side, the team relied heavily on Wesley Freed, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Freed a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Theo Weller, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Looking ahead, Washington Latin Public Charter School will venture away from home to square off against Field at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. School Without Walls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
