Basketball Recap: Northview Piles Up the Points Against Druid Hills

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Northview on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Druid Hills Red Devils out of the water with a 77-9 final score. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 33 points or more this season.

Northview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Milan Johnson out in front who went 5 for 7 on her way to 11 points and six steals. That's the most steals Johnson has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamariana Bivins, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

Northview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Northview has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Druid Hills, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northview will head out to face off against North Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Druid Hills will take on Southwest DeKalb in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
