Baseball Recap: Platte Canyon Takes a Loss

Platte Canyon was the 12-1 winner over Jefferson when they last played one another back in May of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Huskies fell just short of the Saints by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dylan Severson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Nathan Laabs also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Platte Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Jefferson, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Platte Canyon will head out on the road to square off against Clear Creek at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jefferson, they will challenge Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
