Baseball Recap: Tampa Prep Comes Up Short

Tampa Prep lost against Calvary Christian back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Terrapins fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Terrapins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Erik Skiendziel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tampa Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Akins, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was Akins' first of the season.

Tampa Prep's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Calvary Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-1.

Tampa Prep has already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Clearwater Central Catholic on the 28th. As for Calvary Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 win against Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate on the 27th.
