It was a good run, but Montgomery unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 56-43 to the Redwood Giants. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Giants apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Montgomery's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for Redwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Montgomery will be playing at home against Cardinal Newman at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cardinal Newman will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Montgomery surely won't give up without a fight. As for Redwood, they will take on Monterey Trail at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Monterey Trail knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matches -- so hopefully Redwood likes a good challenge.
