South Effingham scored first but ultimately less than Statesboro in their contest on Friday. They took a 27-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. The Mustangs have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Keon Childers produced another solid effort rushing for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Statesboro. Ja'Kori Cope also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
