Baseball Game Preview: Zion Christian Mountaineers vs. Saranac Redhawks

Zion Christian hasn't had much luck against Saranac recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mountaineers will head out to square off against the Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. Zion Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Tuesday, Zion Christian got the win against Martin by a conclusive 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Mountaineers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Moes was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Kloosterman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Saranac scored first but ultimately less than Lowell in their contest on Friday. They came up short against the Red Arrows, falling 16-1.

Zion Christian pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Saranac, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
