Football Recap: Capistrano Valley Christian Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against University last Saturday, Capistrano Valley Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles lost to the Laguna Hills Hawks on the road by a 44-30 margin on Friday.

Defeat or not, Capistrano Valley Christian got some senior leadership from Drake Bothwell and Luke Vincent. Bothwell threw for 280 yards and one TD, while Vincent gained 207 total yards. Vincent didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble, made five total tackles, and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Laguna Hills was led to victory by Jaxson Vanderbeek and Khryztopher Entrala. Vanderbeek rushed for 91 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, while Entrala gained 136 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Entrala racked up 112 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Laguna Hills also got help from Nate Medina, who showed off his sure hands for 99 receiving yards.

Capistrano Valley Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Laguna Hills, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Capistrano Valley Christian has already played their next contest, a 10-7 loss against Calvary Chapel on the 12th. As for Laguna Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-7 defeat against Irvine on the 11th.
