Football Recap: Dover Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Dover faced Lake Forest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Senators were beaten by the Spartans 49-20. The Senators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2016.

Despite the loss, Dover still got an impressive performance from Jayden Bunch, who rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.

Lake Forest had a senior duo take command as Jack Parson rushed for 110 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries and Demarion Russ rushed for 107 yards and two TDs on only ten carries. Parson got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 90 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Wright, who rushed for 97 yards on only seven carries.

Dover now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lake Forest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Dover didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-13 loss against Caravel Academy on the 26th. As for Lake Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 35-13 victory against Archmere Academy on the 27th.
