Basketball Game Preview: Great Plains Lutheran Panthers vs. Elkton/Lake Benton Elks

Great Plains Lutheran is 2-8 against Elkton/Lake Benton since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Great Plains Lutheran Panthers will take on the Elkton/Lake Benton Elks. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Myra Lentz, who posted 14 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last five games she's played. Madeline Prahl was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Elkton/Lake Benton came up short against Deubrook on Thursday, falling 48-27. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Dolphins are ranked 35th).

Elkton/Lake Benton's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Great Plains Lutheran, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 14-5.

Great Plains Lutheran strolled past Elkton/Lake Benton in their previous matchup on February 1st by a score of 51-36. Will Great Plains Lutheran repeat their success, or does Elkton/Lake Benton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
