Baseball Game Preview: Catawba Ridge Copperheads vs. Rock Hill Bearcats

For the second straight game, Catawba Ridge will face off against Rock Hill. The Copperheads will welcome the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Catawba Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Rock Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Catawba Ridge was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rock Hill on Monday. The Copperheads blew past the Bearcats 10-3. The high-scoring effort was just what the Copperheads needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

For Rock Hill's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Brogdon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Brogdon also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

Catawba Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Rock Hill, they dropped their record down to 4-16 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
